Dog Meat - just a traditional habit

First of all, this article does not encourage travelers to try meals made from dog meat.

Just because some people considers something about dog meat and stories around that thing in Vietnam.

For cooking aspect, Dogs in Vietnam are divided into two groups: Dogs for cooking; and Dogs for housekeeping and Pets.

We do not kill every kind of dog.

1. Dogs for cooking:

Formal information:
Big dogs usually are raised at countryside in Vietnam as the way of raising pig or bull.
Pigs and bulls are killed for daily food supply.
Dogs are only killed for special date of family.
Dogs for cooking are usually raised at separate places, not in house.

Only mans like eating dog meat, woman and children do not usually want to enjoy 
this kind of meat.

They say that enjoying dog meat with alcohol is the best dishes in the world.

Chinese has Dog meat festival, but Vietnamese does not have.

On books and curriculum on primary schools, secondary school and higher, there are no confirmation that dog is a food supply. So, eating dog meat is just a traditional habit in Vietnam.

2. Dogs for Pets and housekeeping:

Formal information:
Scarce dogs and Small dogs.

  

We love them as a member of our family.
